NW Paddle Surfers at Seattle Boat Show!

Hey everyone,

Just a quick announcement of a couple things:

First I hope you've all been getting off the couch and hitting the water with this ridiculous January we've had. Not much new snow in the mountains, so scratch your itch by the mirror glass of your local lake, pond or bay! I know I have.

2010 Seattle Boat Show
Just want to let you know that Northwest Paddle Surfers will have their fresh batch of hoodies at the Seattle Boat Show (probably arriving Monday). The first 50 people to order will receive a free one-day pass to the show (pass will be in your name at will-call). Just order at NorthwestPaddleSurfers and indicate "event pickup" for "shipping" upon checking out. We will have all sizes from Small to XXL. Don't wait though, 'cause these will sell out again.

Northwest Paddle Surfers will also have the latest boards from Gerry Lopez, Ron House and Riviera Paddle Surf on display. Check out the 9'2" Nugg from Riviera. Perfect for wake surfing and putting in the trunk of your mini-cooper. We will also have a limited edition, all-carbon 11'3" Gerry Lopez. You will be blown away by how light this board is! The all-carbon Quickblade Kahana Paddles will also be on display. These boards and paddles are also available at Urban Surf next to Gasworks Park.

You can also pick yourself up a stickywheel at the show. Perfect for transporting board during long schleps from car to beach or doorstep to waters edge.

So come see all of this in the East Hall at the Qwest Field Event Center. The show begins this Friday and runs through the following Saturday. There's also a bunch of other cool stuff on display beyond our little booth!

Ron House 12.6 Race Board
I also want to announce the arrival of both the new EPS/epoxy and all-carbon race/touring boards designed by the legendary Ron House. Words can't describe this board, so I've attached a couple images. Super fast, super sexy, and you will be blown away at the price. Urban Surf will have a few of these in the second half of February. Make sure you drop by to check them out, 'cause they won't be around long. After these are gone, there is a LOOOONNNGG waiting list globally.

2010 'Round the Rock
Remember to save the date for Sunday, September 12, 2010 for the 2nd Annual 'Round the Rock Stand Up Paddle Race. There's a strong likelihood that this year's event will be staged at the South Beach of Seward Park. We will send more information as details firm up. This will be a much larger event this year (hence the need for more real estate). We will also introduce an Elite Division this year which will compete for a cash purse. This will entice some of the big names in the sport to come check out the NW paddling scene! I can assure you that they've all heard of the 'Round the Rock by now!

Fun Sidenote
See if you can find your friendly race organizers (Dan and myself) in the brand new issue of Standup Paddle Magazine (the one with New Zealand on the cover). Hint: neither of us is pictured dropping in at Pipeline. 2nd Hint: it's tiny, and it's in a larger ad. If you email us the correct answer, we will give you a free ticket to the boat show!
