I've had a few people ask me where they can find a list of all upcoming races... there isn't one good site, that I know of. Stand Up Zone has an events section in it's forum. Also check out Northwest Paddle Surfers. That is one good site to check. I'm going to try to set-up and maintain a list of upcoming races on the right side column of this site... bear with me... I might not always get everything on it.
Please e-mail me if you know of a NW race that you want on the calendar.
The weather was cold, but the spirits were warm. Dave has found a way to put into words what comes so naturally for him; the Tahitian canoe/SUP stroke. We spent about an hour indoors and then another 1.5 hours on the water being critiqued by Dave. The best part was how all-inclusive his classes are. We had a guy who had never paddled before (ever) all the way up to elite level racers and everyone got something out of it.
I'd like to thank everyone who came out on Thursday morning (all 27 of you). We are all part of a big SUP family & I'm glad to be a part of it.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get them from Rob.
I have long been a fan of Larry Allison's race fins... I've been using the Eric Terrien model all winter long. These fins track like no other, help resist side winds and currents and shed weeds like no other. Are they faster than other fins... I really can't tell, but who cares. If they are allowing you to get more strokes per side and don't pick up weds, then you are gonna go faster. Period. A cool web site called SUP Gladiator is having Larry make some custom fins just for them and their readers/fans. I just got mine today and if looks alone say anything... damn. Can't wait to get it in the water. Contact Casey at SUP Gladiator if you want one...
